Why was every Metal Slug after 3 not as awesome?

Where did the ridiculousness go? WHERE DID THE ZOMBIES, YETIES, MULTIPLE ROUTES, FAT PEOPLE, SUBMARINES, AND GIANT CRAB THINGS GO? WTF SNK.

Four and five were developed after SNK went out of business for a while so they were developed under the supervision of their crappy parent company. Six in my opinion had some superb graphics. And 7? Meh.

I thought 7 would have been perfect if it had included all the cool gimicky things the previous games had. Oh and multiplayer.

7 sucks.

Anything is better than 5.

3 > 1 > 5 > 6> 2/X > 7 > 4

Just imo.

The first thing that drew me to the Metal Slug was the graphics. That's why I really like 6. I like playing them it's just that I think the visual style and the gameplay is better than all the other side-scrolling shooters.

I just wish SNK would take EVERY concept from each game (except that God-awful slide move from 5) and make one huge final game. ONE HOUR FINAL MISSION.
