OnLive
The reason why anyone looking to buy a new video game console might want to hold their money. Screw the DSi I'm definately looking into this. It's a console that sends all the game data to the system. You'll never have upgrade a computer and waste money and... I want one. The only thing I can imagine ever needing my other consoles for is exsclusives. And it seems all you need is a fast connection. I hope this shit works. I also hear it plays Crysis. No joke.

Re: OnLive
Yeah I saw this, if it's true that's awesome. However, being a pirate isn't all that great here.

Re: OnLive
Interesting concept. Hope they have enough money for pointless legal battles because as soon as the Big 3 feel threatened their probably gonna drop on this like Denis Rodman on a cliffside.

Re: OnLive
Oh, and if this is a computer service what's the point of the console other than playing on a TV?

Well I'm still going to buy a DSi. Just not before this.

That's about it. So you can play on your TV. I want the console version so I don't have to sit at this crappy desk and play it.

That and not having to upgrade your PC anymore.

Re: OnLive
It's going to be kind of nice not having to worry about wether or not my computer can run something. Plus Crysis at full graphics doesn't sound bad either.

Re: OnLive
Exactly, I hate how you have to upgrade so often. Not that I upgrade.

Re: OnLive
Crysis was really fun, but considering that the computer I used to run it on broke I haven't been able to play it.

Is there an estimation date on when this is going to be released?

Re: OnLive
They said a beta launch is scheduled for this summer. At first I wasn't too keen on this, but then I realised something wonderfull. This is for games. It's not an "entertainment center" with eleven cameras and 180gb HDD, it's just a bloody game device. I like that.

I found the video interesting, not sure if any of you have seen it.

Re: OnLive
This basically sums up what I want to say:
EDIT: ALSO, I expect to be bombarded by advertisements. And what about mods?
This won't get anywhere until global internet infrastructure is updated. We've got net neutrality issues in the states as it is with providers wanting to cap connections. Until then, this won't get anywhere, but it is the coolest concept of the decade. It'll just take a while for global internet conditions to catch up.

Re: OnLive
Something tells me that the whole legal thing is going to brought up with OnLive. Basically the same shit that happened to Youtube. As far as games though, I could host a game of TF2!

You still have to pay for the games. There would be no legal conflict there.

Dangit. I knew it was too good to be true.

I would probably only buy games I can't run on my PC. There really aren't any good mods for some games anyways. And advertisements? Well I guess it's just like watching TV you always get bombarded with useless junk.
